1.Quote 33

2.Quote 34

They say it’s good to develop your knowledge in a “T shape”: dig deep into one field of expertise that no one can beat, while also covering all kinds of fields broadly, even if only shallowly. By the way, I’m aiming for a “■ shape”!

3.Quote 35

(1) On day 1, I bit the inside of my mouth and it swelled up. (2) If the inside of my mouth is swollen on day n, I will bite the swollen spot, and it will be swollen on day (n+1) too. By (1), (2), and mathematical induction, my swelling will never heal. (Q.E.D.)

4.Quote 36

We tend to think that whatever we can do now, we can do tomorrow too, but over time, people’s interests change easily, and when circumstances change, things that used to be taken for granted can easily disappear. I think it is better to do what you can do now, now, because then tomorrow you can take on something new.

5.Quote 37

Adults are always saying “study” and “get good grades on tests,” so there was a time when I assumed that all adults must be good enough at studying to get good grades on tests.

6.Quote 38

In movies and novels, amazing things happen when a programmer hits the keyboard with a “clickety-clack… bang!” but in reality, when a programmer does the “clickety-clack… bang!” a build runs for about 30 minutes.

7.Quote 39

There is one thing I learned after upgrading my PC to a high-performance one: even when there are resources to spare, it still slows down when it slows down.

8.Quote 40

Rather than regretting that I should have started sooner, I try to think that I’m lucky it didn’t get any later.
